Caught in the Middle of a Paradox

What is happening? Everyone seems to be exalting what you find disturbing. God is one. That is what you cry. You know that God is one. Tawhid. He is holy and just and righteous. You know that He is good. But what is wrong with the world? Do they even know what they’re doing with their lives? Looking forward, you see something you don’t understand. Why all the lights, why all the uproar, why all the fuss? It doesn’t make sense. Why, in a broken world, try to hide the brokenness with lights and fluff and vain things? You take an honest look at your life. You think about all the holidays, and how they come and go, and how you know that one day, maybe someday soon, you will face God on judgment day. That is why you can’t seem to understand what everyone is doing.
